Surprising concert goers recently, the 25-year-old singer revealed through an Instagram video that she’ll be staging her last performance on April 28 at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C. after which she’ll be taking a break due to her condition.

In the video she shared where she appeared to be speaking from a moving vehicle, she told her fans,

“I just want to make this a little clear, Broccoli fest will be my last performance for a little while and everything because you know, shorty keep growing. I be looking like I be moving and everything, but in reality b–ch barely can breathe.”

Reportedly due to give birth in July, Cardi has decided to prioritize her health and her baby’s but promised her fans she’ll be returning to the stage for Bruno Mars’ ‘24K Magic Tour’ in September. This means her other shows scheduled in Texas, Florida, Norway, Ireland and at the Panorama Music Festival in New York City will have to be canceled.

Though the singer has yet to address the cancelation of these gigs, she did tweet the following message the morning after she sent out her video announcement:

“Okay so i might be off from doing performances for a couple of months but in the meantime imma be working my ass off. So many songs, features to do. Working on a lot of deals i sign up for and most importantly nesting. Im already overwhelmed from the new work.”

It was only earlier this month when Cardi announced she was pregnant with her boyfriend Offset’s child, confirming rumors that had been circling the issue for months. She admitted it during her guesting on Saturday Night Live on April 7, around the same time she released her debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’.

Having just successfully completed her two-weekend gig at Coachella, even twerking on stage as she flaunted her baby bump, the singer who was named as one of Time 100’s Most Influential People for 2018 now looks forward to becoming a mother. Though she has yet to reveal the gender of her child, she did disclose that her beau had already picked a name for their baby, one that was unique, according to her interview on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.

She also told Jimmy Fallon that she eventually plans to take her baby along during the final leg of the ‘24K Magic Tour. This means that she’ll be juggling work and motherhood shortly after her baby’s birth.

But for now, she’s clearly making her baby her priority and her concerts will just have to wait.
