According to Kensington Palace, Kate Middleton and Prince William have chosen the name Louis for their baby boy. AmoMama gathered the info from Radar Online.

The Palace confirmed on April 27 in a statement the name, including the royal name, of their second boy.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”

Fans have assumed that William and Kate’s new son would have the name of the 96-year-old Prince Philip but it looks like the couple has gone to another royal direction. Prince Louis VIII has claimed the title King of England from 1216 to 1217.

William, 35, and Kate, 36, welcome the new prince and the third kid in their family this Monday, April 23, at around 11 in the morning. The dad was there during the birth and seven hours after, he stepped out with his wife together with their cute newborn.

Prince Louis’ first visitors were his equally adorable siblings—four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte. Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, was also spotted driving to the Palace to visit her new royal nephew. Pippa is also expecting herself.

It’s also beautiful and coincidental at how Prince William and Kate just celebrated seven years of their marriage this Sunday. Kensington Palace shared a photo from the couple’s 2011 wedding where they rode a blue convertible with William at the wheel and Kate waving to the onlookers.

The shot was captioned:

“Seven years ago today—thank you for all the lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary.”

The two met as students at the University of St. Andrews and when Prince William pooped the question in 2010, he did it with the sapphire and diamond engagement ring from his mother, the late Princess Diana.
