Tom Hanks' children are already grown up and their star dad must be proud of them

The couple have four children together, all of whom are working hard in their own capacities in their respective careers.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have had very successful careers in Hollywood over the years. But aside from their incredible successes on the big screen, they have also raised four children together.

As reported by Closer Weekly, Hanks was married before he met Wilson, to Samantha Lewes. They had two children together before divorcing. Hanks then married Wilson, and they had another two children.

Hanks' four children, Colin, Elizabeth, Chet, and Truman, have all made names for themselves in recent years in their own right.

Colin Hanks

Perhaps the most recognizable of Hanks' four children because of his very obvious resemblance to the beloved actor, Colin has also carved out an acting career for himself.

The 40-year-old made his acting debut in popular teen comedies, but has since graduated to television roles in Dexter and Fargo. He's currently starring in CBS's sitcom Life In Pieces, and is set to appear in IT: Chapter Two.

He has been married to Samantha Bryant for seven years now, and the couple have two daughters: Olivia Jane Hanks and Charlotte Bryant Hanks.

Elizabeth Hanks

35-year-old Elizabeth studied English at university, and has certainly put it to good use. She writes under the name E.A. Hanks, and is based in Los Angeles.

Over the years she has worked for Vanity Fair and Huffpost, and has been a contributor for TIME, Jezebel, and The New York Times.

Hanks even gave a shoutout to his daughter's "blue pencil" and "sharp, honest eyes" in the acknowledgements of his short story collection, Uncommon Type, released in 2017.

Chet Hanks

The 27-year-old oldest child of Hanks and Wilson seems to be the problem child of the family. During his days as rapper Chet Haze, he used a number of racial slurs which got him into trouble.

From there, he started using cocaine, an addiction which he has been battling ever since. In 2016, he revealed via Instagram that he had a daughter, and has been clean ever since.

An unnamed source close to the family has revealed that it was Hanks and Wilson's "caring intervention" that finally got him on the straight and narrow again.

He has also appeared in a number of hit series, including Curb Your Enthusiasm and Shameless. He also recently announced he has landed a recurring role on Empire.

Truman Hanks

The 22-year-old is probably the least-known of Hanks' children. What is known about him is that he is currently a student at Stanford University.

He is also an intern at the production company Bad Robot. In his role at the company, he has served on the production assistant for a number of J.J. Abrams films.
