Who are Meghan Markle’s estranged family members

Ever since she started dating Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's family has been all over the news, and not for good reasons.

The former Suits actress will marry Harry on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The ceremony is bound to be one of the biggest events of the year

But, while it is common for families to attend their members' weddings, only Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, will be able to witness her daughter tied the knot, as reported by the Daily Mail.

By now, almost everyone knows who Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle Sr. are. The two used to be married but they grew apart through the years and ended up filing for divorce.

Markle Sr. was supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle, but due to his frail health, along with the recent scandal involving staged photographs, he won't be able to attend the ceremony.

Considering her ex-husband's absence, Ragland might be considered to play the role that Markle Sr. had been assigned. But Meghan's parents are only the tip of the iceberg.

The Markle family is full of colorful characters, such as Samantha Grant. Grant is Meghan's half-sister and she has come to public on a number of occasions to attack Prince Harry's future wife.

She recently claimed to be the mastermind behind the staged photos scandal, arguing that she convinced her father to pose for the paparazzi for the Royal Family's benefit.

Samantha has another sibling, who, just like her, was born from Markle Sr.'s relationship with Roslyn Markle: Thomas Markle Jr. The 50-year-old has made several headlines accusing Meghan of faking her feelings for Harry and abandoning her family.

At one point, Markle Jr. urged Prince Harry to call off the wedding, arguing that Meghan wasn't the right woman for him and that she was only taking advantage of his royal status.

He is in a relationship with Darlene Blount, who spent two nights in jail in January for assaulting him during a drunken altercation. The year before, Markle Sr. pointed a gun at her head after a domestic incident.

Markle Sr. used to be married to Tracey Dooley, a recovering alcoholic, with whom he has a son: 25-year-old Tyler. While she works as an advertising seller, he has his own legal marijuana production - the Sparkle Markle.

Mother and son, who reside in Oregon, have been spotted in London in the past few days even though they weren't invited to the wedding.

Noel Rasmussen is Meghan's 19-year-old niece, who has been living with her grandmother, Roslyn, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Unlike her mother, she supports her aunt and wants to see her happy.

Finally, the less known members of the Markle family are Michael and Frederic, Markle Sr.'s brothers. The first used to work for the U.S. Air Force and the second is currently the leader of the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church. He is known as Bishop Dismas and is rarely seen in public.
