Remember 'Salt-N-Pepa's Cheryl James? Her son is all grown up now
The rapper gushed over her good-looking 18-year-old son who's still so much her baby as he is a grown up.
She recently marked the 30th year anniversary of her female rap group Salt-N-Pepa. But Cheryl James was simply a doting mom to her only son Chapelle in a post she shared last month.
Gushing over the man she calls her “favorite son,” the 52-year-old mother-of-two featured a photo of the good-looking young man lying on her bed without his shirt and staring into the camera with his beautiful brown eyes. The proud mom then told her followers in her caption about how much of a baby her 18-year-old still is.
“He’s 18 still coming to lay in his mother’s bed and chat. Looking like he’s from the 70’s. @chapele_wray my favorite son. Oh yea...you’re my only son. I love you boy!”
Chapelle is Cheryl’s son with husband Gavin Wray who’s also the father of the rapper’s older daughter Corin. The couple are currently living in Atlanta.
The singer also known as ‘Salt’ recently returned to the limelight in a reunion jam with her rap trio ‘Salt-N-Pepa’ at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. She shared the stage with her bandmates Sandra Denton (Pepa) and Deldra Roper (DJ Spindrella) and performed their hits including ‘Push It’ which earned the group the title of first female rappers to make it to Billboard’s Hot 100’s Top 20 in 1988.
After the show, Cheryl posted a selfie expressing how grateful she was. In her short caption, she wrote,
"#vegas #2018billboardawardsme after it all. Simply thankful."
On a separate post, she stood next to that night's Billboard Icon Awardee Janet Jackson along with her 'Salt-N-Pepa' galpals for a momentous pic.
