She may be a multi-million entertainment mogul but the 37-year-old is also a citizen who fights for a cause. She recently met with President Donald Trump to plea for a pardon for prisoner Alice Marie Johnson but was also hit with a lot of negative criticism for strengthening ties with the President.

Posting her gratitude to the world leader on Twitter, Kim also revealed why she met with him in the first place.

Earlier that day, Trump also mentioned his meeting with the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star and even posted a photo of them in the Oval Office. He was positive about the turnout of their talk in his caption that read,

“Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing.”

But while the two were in agreement that their meeting went well, many slammed Kardashian for engaging with Trump. The New York Post released a cover where it used Trump and Kardashian’s Oval Office photo and super imposed the headline “Trump Meets Rump” on it. The cover also featured the sub-titles “Kim Thong Un Pitches Prez on Prison Reform” and “The Other Big Ass Summit.”

Other citizens chimed in releasing their own negative comments about the situation.

The wife of Kanye West and mother of his three children is currently asking for pardon for Johnson who was sentenced to life imprisonment for a non-violent drug offense. Now that the African American great grandmother is on her 20th year in prison serving what was confirmed as her first offense, Kardashian took it upon herself to request for her release due to the lack of gravity of her offense. She even posted a screen shot of her letter to the White House where she discussed her plight.

One fan pointed out that while Kardashian and Trump appeared to be reaching an agreement, the President opted to release several wealthy white collar criminals just 24 hours earlier.

As to whether Kardashian’s case will get a positive outcome, that still remains to be seen.
