Here's how Seal got the scars on his face

Seal has been a renowned name in the music industry for almost three decades. Aside from his music, it is often asked how he got his scars.

As reported by Metro, 54-year-old Seal suffered from a medical condition called discoid lupus erythematosus. This type of lupus is a chronic skin disorder that causes sores, inflammation and may leave large scars.

The condition affects one's face, scalp, and ears. It can potentially affect other parts of the body as well.

Seal was born on February 19, 1963, as Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel and has been making waves in the music industry since his first album titled Seal that was launched in 1991.

He was in the news cycle after his marriage to German model Heidi Klum. The couple was constantly in the limelight and were renowned for their epic Haloween parties

Klum and Seal started dating in 2004 when the model was pregnant with her previous boyfriend Flavio Briatore's child. Klum was out of the relationship with Briatore who was working as the Formula One team manager.

Seal proposed to Klum in December 2014 in a quinzee that he had built on a glacier in British Columbia. The couple tied the knot on May 10, 2005, on a beach in Mexico near Seal's residence in Costa Careyes.

Klum and Seal renewed their vows every year with a small ceremony. They only invited their close friends and family members for their anniversary celebrations. Seal adopted Klum and Briatore's daughter, Helena, in 2009.

The couple has three other children together, two sons, 12-year-old Henry Günther Adeola Dashtu Samuel and 11-year-old Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel and one daughter, 8-year-old Lou Sulola Samuel.

The couple announced their divorce in January 2012 and finalized it in October 2014.

Seal is currently believed to be single. He was linked up with Delta Goodrem and Erica Packer in the last two years. The singer has won three Grammy Awards for his 1996 hit son Kiss From A Rose.
