Tia Mowry and her husband, Cory Hardrict, were looking forward to the arrival of their new baby, and part of preparing for the little one was decorating the nursery.

Mowry decided to share the special room with fans on YouTube after she was inundated with requests to see the room at her baby shower.

The actress shared that it was very important to her that the room fit in with the rest of the house, and so she called in friend and designer Jake Alexander to help with the task.

To start with, they picked a basic color scheme. While most mothers expecting little girls might opt for a shade of pink, Mowry opted for neutral shades of white, off-white, and earthy tones.

She explained this by saying that she had no idea what her daughter might like or dislike until she grew older, and that the neutral color makes it easy to add things on as times goes by.

Mowry also added that she wanted the nursery to feel calm and soothing, and the soft color achieves that goal.

She also shared that everything in the nursery is organic, including sheets and toys. There is also plenty of wood in the room.

Unlike her first pregnancy, Mowry felt this time around that she didn't need so much stuff for the baby, which is evident in how sparsely furnished the nursery is. The furniture in the room can also be kept and used by her daughter.

One of the important pieces of furniture in the room is a basinet that will rock her daughter to sleep once she is safely swaddled inside the pint-sized sleeping bag that is built into the bed.

Mowry also offered a sneak peak of her baby's wardrobe, which is already stocked with plenty of adorable outfits and shoes for the little one.

Mowry and Hardrict welcomed their daughter on May 5.
