A Dutch woman, 99-year-old Annie, had a wish – to get arrested once in her life and she ticked it off her bucket list.

Police officers of Nijmegen-Zuid, Netherlands, took to Facebook to share photos of an ecstatic Annie in the cell on February 23, 2017.

Seeing the Eiffel Tower, running a marathon, or a ride in a helicopter are some common bucket-list items. However, for one Dutch woman, something she really wanted to do was to get arrested.

In fact, it sat on the top of Annie’s list – ‘Experience a police cell from within.’

The woman’s niece contacted officers in the Dutch town of Nijmegen-Zuid, 75 miles south-east of Amsterdam, to tell them about her aunt’s dream.

The police department hit a roadblock, ‘Civilians are not allowed inside an area with cells,’ read the post on Facebook.

They could not say no to such a request, hence, they bent the rules and ‘arranged a visit for Annie in a dwell chamber.’

Annie would never forget her experience – she was picked up by the police, cuffed, and locked up. She had the time of her life as the photos prove.

The elderly woman, whose last name has not been published, is seen locked in handcuffs and grinning with delight.

The post said, ‘In her life, she never committed any crime, and thought it would be exciting to experience. As you can see in the picture from our post, she found it hilarious to be on the inside with the handcuffs.’

The Facebook post went viral and has garnered over 7,300 likes and over 700 shares on the social networking website.

The request is quite uncommon, but it is not the first time someone has asked to have them arrested for the fun of it.

In 2016, a 102-year-old woman in St. Louis, Edie Simms too had a similar item on her bucket list. Upon her request, police officers arrested her at the senior center, placed her in the back of a St. Louis PD car, and drove her away from her senior center, reported CNN.
