DeGeneres’ Netflix special was first announced in May last year. On her show, the star shared that “It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. Fifteen years. And I’m writing it now, I can’t wait.”
She told her viewers that she would keep them posted and when and where her Netflix special would be shot. DeGeneres shared that she was excited to be doing it and also excited for her fans to see it.
“And now, each one of you, you get to Netflix & chill with me. How about that?” she joked. In March, her wife Portia de Rossi, 45, shared a photo of the comedian writing her jokes.
The image was taken during their vacation to French Polynesia. De Rossi captioned the Instagram image by letting her followers know that the host was working on her Netflix special in the most peaceful place in the world.
