Ne-Yo and wife Crystal Smith share first photos of newborn son after emergency surgery
Singer Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Smith welcomed to the world their second child. Things didn’t go as planned, though, and she underwent an emergency surgery.
Crystal, as any proud mother would do, has been keeping her Instagram followers updated regarding her pregnancy by posting photos of her belly bump from different angles.
The ‘cutest’ one was uploaded on Mother’s Day. It showed Crystal wearing a white dress with a floral design next to two of her children. The highlight of the photo was her big belly which Crystal was gently caressing.
On June 14, 2018, Crystal uploaded a photo that read ‘Roman Alexander-Raj Smith,’ as a way to let her followers know that it was the child’s name. In the caption, she gave further details of Roman.
She pointed out that the baby weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces and that he was 19 inches long. Crystal ended up writing that Roman was ‘so beautiful.’
Her next post, which was the first photo the couple’s fans saw portraying Roman, showed Crystal breastfeeding the baby on the hospital bed. She was wearing a black top and the boy was covered by a white blanket.
While the photo itself attracted a lot of attention, the caption surprised Crystal’s fans. She confessed that she had an ‘ironclad’ birth plan to follow but God had a different one for her.
Crystal added that a routine doctor visit ended up in an emergency surgery as Roman wasn’t doing well in her womb and he had to be delivered immediately to prevent any damage. After pointing out it was the ‘scariest moment ever,’ Crystal admitted Roman was healthy.
Ne-Yo also took to Instagram to share a photo of Roman. It showed the baby sleeping on the singer’s chest while both of them were covered by a white blanket. Ne-Yo captioned the post writing ‘Happy Father’s Day to me.’
