Mariah Carey flaunts new weight-loss figure in body-hugging dress

The 48-year-old singer Mariah Carey attended the Songwriters Hall Fame 49th Annual Induction and Awards dinner, wearing a show-stopper black dress.

The event was held on Thursday at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York, and the A-list stars headed to GoldBar in New York for the after party.

Carey took to Twitter later that evening to congratulate Jermaine Dupri on being inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, and said she'll see him in the studio soon 'to continue making magic.'

She used the hashtags 'We Belong Together,' 'Honey,' 'Always Be My Baby,' and 'many more.' Her tweet received more than 6,400 likes

The event was also attended by the likes of Chad Elliott, Steve Tyler, and Usher. Carey chose a figure-hugging shimmering black dress with plunging neckline.

The long-sleeved dress, floor-length dress also had a side slit. Carey completed the outfit with delicate diamante hoop earrings, a diamond ring and strappy high heels.

It was the perfect outfit to accentuate her slim figure, and her fans noticed! They commended her on Twitter for being their idol.

A user known only as Nanci said All I Want For Christmas Is You singer was beautiful 'inside and out,' while Filou said the musician 'never looked better.'

Paulo said 'ravishing has a new meaning,' while Mario Jilanno said she 'looks spectacular' and Laura remarked that it's 'a tragedy' that Carey hasn't been inducted into the hall of fame yet.

Fans of Carey can look forward to her upcoming work. She is working on a new album, the title of which is yet to be revealed. She also recorded a song with her children.
