'Desperate Housewives' star welcomes her first son

43-year-old Eva Longoria and her husband of two years were recently blessed with a baby boy, whom they named Santiago Enrique Bastón.

On Tuesday, June 19, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria gave birth to a 6 lbs., 13 oz., baby boy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Longoria confirmed the birth of her son, who has been named Santiago Enrique Bastón, to Hola, stating that she and her husband José “Pepe” Bastón were thrilled and grateful for the blessing.

Santiago Enrique is Longoria’s first child, while he is the fourth child of Bastón, including three children from his previous marriage.

Longoria and Bastón were blessed with a baby weeks after they celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary in May.

The couple’s anniversary turned out to be just as eventful as their first anniversary, which coincided with the Cannes Film Festival.

The duo had been romantically involved since 2013 before finally tying the knot in Mexico. The grand wedding celebration was graced by numerous celebrities and also featured fireworks.

Longoria first confirmed that she was pregnant while speaking with People last December, adding that she was 4 months pregnant at the time of the interview.

In an eventual interview in April, Longoria revealed to People that she had mixed feelings of fear and excitement about delivering a baby.

Longoria had also shared that her family would be present at the hospital during her delivery procedure. Last month, close friends threw Longoria a baby shower with themed to resemble a pajama party.

At the baby shower that was hosted at the Lombardi House in Los Angeles, notable celebrities like Melanie Griffith, Elizabeth Banks, Marcia Cross and Sophia Bush were spotted.

In March this year, Longoria had also shared her excitement about having a baby boy. She emphasizing that she would bring him up with a feminist attitude.

Longoria had shared that she was pleased about having a son since she believed that the world needed more good men. June had been a tough month for Longoria until the birth of her son, as she also lost her dog Jinxy owing to a stroke.

After becoming a mother, she emphasized that she and her husband could not be more grateful for the blessing of a new member in the family.
