Snoop Dogg's wife Shante Broadus shares a photo of their teen daughter rocking a newly-shaved hairstyle while wearing a skintight red dress just in time for her birthday.
When Cori was 6-years-old, she was diagnosed with Lupus, an incurable disease that affects more than 1.5 million people. At first, the couple did not understand why her daughter suddenly grew a light spot on her face, and eventually started losing a significant amount of weight and hair. Countless visits to numerous doctors could not pinpoint her illness, and the family felt helpless. Since then, the couple has been tightknit, knowing that they will not be able to go through her daughter's condition without each other.
During her diagnosis, Snoop and Shante were actually in the middle of getting a divorce. What many people don't know however, is that Cori's Lupus battle is the reason that made Snoop and his wife stay together. An interview with People had the rapper opening up about the entire ordeal, saying that his daughter's ailment pushed him and Shante to give marriage a try once again and eventually, they renewed their vows in 2008.
His wife Shante adds that they would not have survived having to deal with everything life has been throwing at them if they ended up separating for good.
"Without [Snoop], I don't know what I'd have done. It's amazing how this all turned out. We were gonna get a divorce, but we wouldn't have gotten through [the lupus diagnosis] that way."
The strong mother shared a photo of her daughter's newly shaven hair on Instagram, greeting her as she turns a year older.
Now that Cori just turned 19, she was been winning the battle against lupus, trying to live a normal life as possible. Her parents remain very supportive of her, even supporting her recent choice of shaving her head to prevent hairfall due to the chronic disease.
