Tika Sumpter celebrated her 38th birthday last week, and she is still looking amazing. The actress was a wonder in green at the red carpet of the BET Awards, and she’s getting ready to take over our screens with several projects.
Her work in OWN’s “The Haves and The Have Nots” has opened lots of doors for Tika Sumpter. Known for her roles in series like “One Life to Live,” “Gossip Girl,” and “The Game,” Tika has been taking the industry by storm in the last five years.
The stunning mother of one recently attended the BET Awards and made head turns with her outfit and makeup. Tika wore a Missoni lime green mini dress with fringes that hugged her figure and completed the look with silver strappy sandals and a green clutch.
The star attended the awards with her friend and hair stylist Annagjid "Kee" Taylor, who was wearing a green emerald flowy dress. Fans were expecting to see Tika step up on the red carpet with her soon-to-be-husband, Nicholas James, but the man was the great absent of the night.
However, Sumpter had a lot of fun with her friends, and she showed her best side profile in a series of selfies she shared on Instagram with Lena Waithe and Ben Cory Jones, two of the more talked about writers and producers in the entertainment industry at the moment.
Tika has been busy these days splitting her time between work commitments and motherhood. Her daughter, Ella Loren, will be two-years-old in October, but luckily for the actress, she has Nicholas to help her with the girl.
There are four projects that we know about lined up for TIka. This year, she will be starring in three movies “The Old Man and The Gun,” “The Pages,” and “Nobody’s Fool.” The last one is a film written and directed by Tyler Perry, and Tika will be sharing credits with the iconic Whoopi Goldberg and the comedic sensation Tiffany Haddish.
Sumpter is also set to appear as the female lead in the movie adaption of “Sonic the Hedgehog,” a film based on the famous video game of the speedy creature. Some fans are excited about the projects, but the majority have not faith in it, so Tika has a big challenge ahead with the film.
