Paris Jackson shares photo of grandfather Joe's final moments

On Wednesday the famous Jackson family patriarch, Joseph ‘Joe’ Jackson, died from pancreatic cancer. His granddaughter, Paris Jackson, took to social media to share a touching tribute.

In her Instagram post, Paris shared a photo of herself holding Joe’s hand. She also revealed how they had spent his final moments together.

Joseph 'Joe' Jackson’s last hours on Earth were spent surrounded my family including Paris Jackson, 20. Paris is Joe’s granddaughter from his late son Michael Jackson.

In her Instagram post, Paris shared three photos including one where she held her grandfather’s hand. The other three pictures showed Joe, 89, in his younger years.

Calling him ‘The Hawk,’ Michael’s child shared that ‘none of us would be anywhere near where we’re at if it weren’t for you. you are the strongest man i know.’

‘Being able to tell you everything i needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing.’

She also promised to cherish every moment with him until the day she died. Paris revealed that she treasured being able to hold his hand, kiss him on the forehead and cheeks, and share the advice he’d given her as a child.

She shared that his eyes would light up as she recalled his advice to her. They also spent time talking about the stories her father had told her about Joe.

Paris stated in her post that she’d made her grandfather promise to visit her in her dreams after he was gone. She wished for him to rest in peace and shared that she would see him in her dreams very soon.

Paris wasn’t the only grandchild to send a tribute to Joe. Her brother, Prince Jackson, also took to Instagram to honor his grandfather.

Posting an image where he stood smiling with Joe, Prince said, ‘You taught me to take pride in the Jackson name and what it really means, you taught me dedication in the face of adversity and most of all you showed me strength and fearlessness.’

He ended his post by revealing that there would never be someone like Joe. Prince and Paris’ father Michael died on June 25, 2009, 9 years before Joe passed away.

Over the years Joe has had a series of health problems. In November 2012, he recovered from a minor stroke at his Las Vegas home.

Three years later, his daughter Janet Jackson, had to put rehearsals for her Unbreakable World Tour on hold when he suffered another stroke and heart arrhythmia in Brazil. The second stroke occurred on his 87th birthday in July 2015.

In May 2016, he was hospitalized due to a high fever and in June last year, he was released from the hospital after a car accident in Las Vegas. Joe was born on July 26, 1928, in Fountain Hill, Arkansas.

He was the creator and founder of the famous Jackson 5. Joe was also the driving force that helped his children Michael and Janet to be the legendary musicians they are.
