Kylie Jenner slammed after sharing video of 5-month-old daughter's ears
The 20-year-old socialite and businesswoman, Kylie Jenner, is getting flack on social media after she shared an adorable photo of her 5-month-old daughter, Stormi.
The photo, originally shared on Snapchat, showed Kylie holding Stormie close to her chest. Snapchat posts only remain online for 24 hours, but a fan page shared it on Instagram as well.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Stormi's ears were pierced. While many of her fans thought it was adorable, others criticized her for piercing her baby's ears at such a young age.
One netizen in particular, Instagram user Sally Anne Brown, said Kylie should be ashamed of herself because it's 'utterly disgraceful.' Read more on our Twitter @amomama_usa.
She added that babies do not need their ears pierced and said Kylie simply did it to make a fashion statement. Brown believes that 'a babies [sic] ear is still forming and growing at that age.'
Several of Kylie's fans stepped up and defended their favorite Kardashian, saying that Kylie is an excellent mother to Stormi and that a baby feels no pain at such a young age.
Some even feel that 'the younger, the better.' Brown, who is from the UK, explained that she is not used to seeing a baby with pierced ears. Other fans convinced her it's a common sight in the USA and other parts of the world.
On Twitter, Marissa wanted to know if Stormi cried when she got her ears pierced, while Jemma said it 'shouldn't be allowed at all,' and Niamh Lalor said 'no no no.'
As reported by Inquisitr, Kylie hasn't responded the criticism yet. Her big sister, Khloe, received the same feedback when she had True's ears pierced at two months old.
Kylie and her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, welcomed Stormi on February 1. The tiny tot was given her father's real surname, Webster.
Earlier this month, Kylie was named as the 'Youngest Ever Self-Made Billionaire' by Forbes and will appear in the business magazine's August issue.
