Rev. Run warms hearts in latest romantic video with wife of 24 years
Rev. Run and his wife share romantic moments as they wish their followers a positive weekend following news of their upcoming Netflix sitcom which has them switching roles.
They’re set to star in their own Netflix show this fall and Rev. Run and his wife Justin Simmons have just sent out positive vibes to their fans on their Instagram.
The famous couple married for more than two decades gives fans a peek into their cozy world as the hip-hop legend, born Joey Simmons, shares a romantic slideshow featuring the two of them. Four photos reveal the couple in various locations sending out a whole lot of inspiration to their fans. In one pic, Justine is poised to give her husband a peck on the cheek while they pose for a selfie on a boat in another. Two other photos feature the couple walking side by side and delighting in conversation. The album was accompanied by instrumental music that set the mood for the slideshow.
“Hope you have a positive weekend,” the Run D.M.C rapper turned reverend wrote in his caption and added,
“Be inspired. Give love. #stayinthelight#staypositive”
Joey and Justine have every reason to be inspired now that they’re set to appear on a new show on Netflix. According to reports, the autobiographical sitcom will feature the couple as fictionalized versions of themselves. In the script, they switch roles as Justine pursues a career while Joey takes care of the household.
The show called ‘All About the Washingtons’ is the brainchild of Joey in collaboration with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and ABC. The rapper revealed they pitched the show to Netflix who bought it from them. Set to premiere in the fall, Joey explains the show further.
“In the past we’ve done reality shows, but this is scripted. I play a rapper who’s trying to retire while his wife, played by my wife Justine, is trying to take over the world with her inventions, so that creates the comedy. Anthony Anderson’s son Nathan is playing my on-screen son, and some other great actors are involved. I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world. If you remember Run’s House, it’s something like that, but it’s scripted comedy.”
As of the moment, the singer reveals his focus is on the new show so he isn’t working on any new music.
