Picture of dad sleeping under sick child's hospital bed goes viral

A photo was shared by Amy Palmer of her hard-working husband and the loving father, Andre Palmer, sleeping under his son’s hospital bed.

The picture clicked at York Hospital Pediatrics in Pennsylvania, went viral after it was posted on Facebook on July 5, 2016.

He may have worked long shifts, but this father would not spend even a minute away from his sick son, Andre Jesse.

The Palmers’ you son, AJ, was being treated at York Hospital after he had suffered an asthma attack, according to his mother.

Andre was exhausted after a long day’s work but wanted to still stay by his son’s side.

Speaking to Fox2Now, Amy said that her husband did not have to come to the hospital after having worked all night. He could have gone home to get some sleep.

The woman was herself as asleep in a chair when her husband came in. When she finally woke up, she saw him under their son’s crib and thought that the perfect picture was worth sharing with her friends and family.

She did not realize that it would touch a chord with netizens all over the country. It garnered over 26,000 reactions and more than 4,000 shares on Facebook.

One user from Newfoundland, Canada, Jess Rowe, commented that it was great to see a good father and mother in the world.

Another user, Amber Breneman, said that the picture was all over the internet, but she was not aware of the story behind it. The user added that Andre deserved all the recognition he was getting and hoped that all husbands follow in his footsteps.

‘This is a picture of a hard working man dedicated to his family!! After working all night third shift, he’s right here with his son who is in the hospital.’

She continued saying that Andre was still at the hospital despite being exhausted. She believed that the Father of the year award should go to her husband.

In an update, Amy said that their son, AJ, was doing much better and the three were back home, sleeping comfortably in their own beds.
