Remember 'Godfather' star Robert Duvall? Here's how he looks now

The 87-year-old actor and producer, Robert Duvall, is most famously known for his role as Tom Hagen in "The Godfather." Would you recognize him today?

Duvall landed his first film role 16 years before being cast in "The Godfather" and its sequel. His career has spanned more than six decades, and he has 143 film credits to his name.

The veteran actor is still going strong and made headlines two years ago when he became the oldest person to be nominated for an Academy Award.

EARLY CAREER

After plying his tried on the stage for four years, Duvall landed an uncredited role in "Somebody Up There Likes Me," and in the popular series "Playhouse 90" four years later.

He also had several minor roles in "Naked City," "Route 66," "Outer Limits," and "The F.B.I." during the late-fifties and early-sixties.

On the film front, Duvall was cast in the lead role of the cult classic "THX 1138," as well as Maj. Frank Burns in "MASH," and as Vernon Adams in "Lawman."

THE GODFATHER ERA

He received critical acclaim for his part in "The Godfather," being nominated for an Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor. Sadly, he didn't walk away with the trophies.

Seven years later, Duvall won a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, and an American Movie Award for the 1979 hit, "Apocalypse Now."

Duvall was also nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for "Tender Mercies" in 1983. He also won a Golden Globe for "Stalin," and "Lonesome Dove."

LATER YEARS

During the nineties, he also in award-winning films like "Slingblade," "Secondhand Lions," and "Gone In 60 Seconds."

Fans of Duvall might have recognized him in recent films such as "Jack Reacher" alongside Tom Cruise, and as Joseph Palmer in "The Judge."

His latest film, "Widows," is completed and will be released later this year. Duvall currently lives with his fourth wife, Luciana Pedraza, in Virginia, whom he met in Argentina.

The pair had been together since 1997 when they met in a bakery. They tied the knot back in 2005.
