Alex Rodriguez shows his appreciation for J.Lo's booty shaking skills at the MTV VMAs

Jennifer Lopez has found the best fan and boyfriend in Alex Rodriguez. On Monday night, during her MTV VMAs performance, the former athlete was right in front taking pictures.

He was clearly impressed with her dance moves as she shook her bottom in the crowd’s direction. On the night, she also won a coveted award.

Alex Rodriguez, 43, is the ultimate supportive boyfriend and he showed it on Monday during the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. He was seen taking pictures of his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, 49, on the pink carpet earlier that night.

Then, later on, the singer had a performance onstage. Rodriguez looked on with appreciation and took more videos and pictures as he cheered while Lopez danced onstage.

These included “Waiting for Tonight,” “On the Floor,” “I Ain’t Your Mama,” “Dance Again,” “El Anillo,” “Booty,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Get Right,” and “All I Have.”

The former baseball star’s approval was a topic on social media, with fans sharing images of his face on Twitter. One fan wrote, “A-Rod appreciating what he got at home. JLo KILLED this performance. #VMAs.”

After her high-energy performance, the musician and actress received a standing ovation before she accepted MTV’s highest honor. Shawn Mendes handed her the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Lopez thanked all the people who helped her along the way in her career during her speech. She also mentioned her 10-year-old twins Max and Emme and her boyfriend, whom she called her “twin soul.”

“It has been an incredible journey. Dreaming my wildest dreams and then kind of watching them come through. Music, acting, performing — this career has always been an obsession for me. When people have said, ‘You’re doing too much, you can only do one thing,’ I was always a person who was like, ‘Why not?’ I kind of had to forge my own path and rules,” the star said.

She added, “It was through that unconditional love that my career and life became higher in every way, and I stand here better than ever. So thank you, Max and Emme.”

Rodriguez could be seen smiling from his seat with Max sitting on his lap while Emme sat next to her grandmother, Lupe. The musician couldn’t leave the stage without acknowledging her boyfriend.

“My life is sweeter and better with you in it because you make me realize that every day the sky is not the limit — the universe is infinite, and so is what we can accomplish together with love and trust and understanding. There’s so much more to do — to experience — and there is no one I’d rather do it with. You’re my macho baby and I love you,” the star honored her partner.
