A couple of days ago, Owens was seen working at the retail store and was sadly job-shamed by some media outlets. After seeing articles regarding the actor, Tyler made sure to publicly state that he was offering him a job in his new OWN drama series.

The series he is pertaining to is his hit "The Haves and the Have Nots", and instead of making Geoffrey feel ashamed about his side job, he says he has a lot of respect for people who work between gigs as it is the measure of a true artist.

Perry has always been known for being generous to other people, even gifting one of his stars Tiffany Haddish with a brand new car recently, which brought her to tears.

Although the generosity from Perry seems tempting to accept, Owens shares that he did not want any handouts from his sudden burst in publicity.

“I wouldn’t feel comfortable getting acting jobs from this event. I wouldn’t mind getting auditions. I don’t mind if people call me to try out for things, due to what’s happened … I want to get a job because I’m the right person.”

However, he made sure to let his fans know that the 57-year-old has gotten all sorts of interest now, which is good for his acting career. He adds that he actually feels more like a "celebrity" now than ever before.

Geoffrey played Elvin Tiabideaux, Bill Cosby's son-in-law, in 44 episodes of the "Cosby Show". After his stint, he has been teaching acting and directing for years, but recently he went viral after being seen working in Trader Joe's, which he says he has been doing for 15 months before the picture went viral on Labor Day weekend.

He explained that he is not ashamed of working at the store, as no job is better than the other.

“Every job is worthwhile and valuable.”
