Magic Johnson's wife turns heads in figure-hugging yellow dress with thigh-high slit in pic
Cookie Johnson looks stunning in recent pics shared to her Instagram after celebrating the birthday of one of her dearest friends. Her husband, Magic Jonhson, was with her, and the couple is stronger than ever a few weeks after celebrating their 27th anniversary.
The businesswoman took to her Instagram to share a series of pics from her friend Tamika Glass Mosley’s Cuba-themed birthday party. Cookie followed the tropical theme by wearing a bright yellow dress that hugged her figure and featured a thigh-high slit and thin straps. She completed the look with frilly red shoes and a matching headband.
Magic, on the other hand, kept a classic approach with a black and white striped suit, a white t-shirt and black dress shoes. The happy couple posed together with Johnson embracing Cookie by the waist. They also took pictures with friends LL Cool J and his wife, Simone.
Cookie dedicated a lovely message to the birthday girl saying:
“#LatePost Happy birthday @tamikomosley! Your beauty shines inside & out! Earvin @magicjohnson and I had such a wonderful night celebrating you!! #Tamikos50th #HavanaNights.”
Fans of Cookie took her comment section to praise her look. One wrote “Love that dress, and you look absolutely gorgeous!” another added “You both look great as always Cookie,” and a third one agreed “Cookie you’re wearing that yellow dress! Looking good!”
Cookie and Magic will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on September 14. They have been together for twenty-seven years now, and have two kids together, son E.J, 26, and adopted daughter, Elisa.
The Johnson have been together through the storm, and that has only made them stronger. Just two months before they tied the knot, Magic Johnson found out he was HIV positive. At the time, Cookie was already pregnant with their first child, and their immediate fear was to know if the baby was also infected.
Fortunately, Cookie got a negative on her test, which meant the baby was safe as well. Years later, the couple opened up about those moments of uncertainty where Magic told Cookie she could leave him if she wanted.
“He said, 'If you want to leave, you know, I don't blame you. It's OK. I understand.'' Then I said, '’Are you kidding me? No. I love you. I'm gonna stay here and help you live. I'm gonna stay here, and we're gonna beat this thing. We're gonna figure out how to beat this thing,'" she explained in a “Good Morning America” special.
Johnson, on the other hand, credits his wife for helping get through his diagnosis. He said:
“I think that if Cookie had left, I’d probably be dead now – no question about it. The reason I live today, and the reason I work as hard today, is for my wife and my family.”
