A bridal couple opted for an unusual theme at their wedding.

Kyle Morris and Brian Seals decided on the day they got engaged that there would be some special guests at their wedding: Shelter pets.

The two had decided to tie the knot in July 2017 after working together on rescue projects for the "Partner 4 Pets" animal rescue center in Troy, Illinois, and it was with the shelter's help that they made their dream come true.

"Partner 4 Pets" posted their adorable wedding photos on their Facebook page in which 10 adorable puppies took center-stage.

“We thought it would be an amazing way to get the dogs out of the cage for the day and a way for people to see the dogs and get some attention to Partners 4 Pets.”

Brian Seals, People.com, September 11, 2018.

HOW COULD THEY INCLUDE THE PUPPIES IN THE WEDDING PARTY?

The couple knew they wanted to have adoptable shelter pups at the wedding, but couldn't think of how to include them until Morris had a brainstorm.

She decided to discard the traditional bouquets and have every one of the 10 groomswomen carry a puppy instead.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, AND A PUPPY-DOG TOO

The 10 groomswomen for the barn-theme wedding were dressed in lovely wine-colored lace dresses and short cowboy boots, and each was tastefully accessorized with a cute puppy-dog.

THE GUESTS WERE ASTOUNDED

The wedding guests were astounded and delighted. Who doesn't love a cute puppy? But for Morris and Seals, the issue was to call attention to the plight of thousands of puppies left to languish in shelters.

"WE WANTED TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE SHELTER"

As volunteers at "Partner 4 Pets" animal rescue center, the couple knows that thousands of dogs live out their lives without ever finding a forever home - simply because people are not aware.

A HAPPY ENDING FOR THE HAPPY COUPLE AND THE PUPS

To the happy couple's delight, 8 of the 10 puppies were adopted since the wedding. Their gambit to help the sweet puppies find a home paid off and its a "happy ever after" for everyone involved.

THE SAD PLIGHT OF ANIMALS IN SHELTERS

Although shelters like "Partner 4 Pets" do a commendable job and save animals from the terrible kill-shelters, they do not provide what every shelter pet so desperately needs: A forever home.

Animals that are not adoptable live out their lives in cages where they often become depressed and withdrawn.

The true task of animal lovers and the mission of shelters like "Partner 4 Pets" is to try and find every one of their charges a family who will love and care for them.

In a related story, research seems to indicate that adopting a dog is good for your health since it proves that puppies increase the level of their owner's happiness.
