Tamar Braxton reportedly pleads for judge to sign off on divorce after husband failed to respond

Tamar Braxton is taking bigger steps to end her marriage to Vince Herbert. She's asked the judge to finalize their divorce despite her estranged husband's refusal to cooperate.

Tamar Braxton is desperate to sever ties with her estranged husband Vince Herbert. She reportedly pleaded with the judge to grant their divorce.

According to the Blast who obtained the singer’s court documents, Tamar Braxton is requesting for a default judgment in her divorce case. Herbert hasn’t responded to her petition but she wants to move ahead with the dissolution of their marriage.

Braxton didn’t seem to be in a hurry to cut ties with Herbert months ago when her divorce was in limbo. In fact, the court warned her in August that if she didn’t provide proof that she served papers to Herbert, their case would be dismissed. A month later, Braxton responded by serving Herbert his papers and providing the court documents showing proof.

Herbert was given 30 days to respond to the September 6 documents Braxton sent him. When her former manager failed to show up in court within the deadline, Braxton took matters in her own hands. She requested the judge to move ahead with their divorce anyway.

Reports suggest the judge may still decide on child and spousal support even without Herbert’s presence in court. It’s also in his power to divide the couple’s joint assets fairly.

Braxton initially filed for divorce in October 2017 after their 9-year-marriage fell apart. Their nasty separation reportedly took a toll on Herbert who was fired by Remy Ma earlier this year. The rapper accused Herbert of failing to fulfill his obligations as her manager. He was reportedly distracted from work due to his turbulent relationship with his ex.

Meanwhile, Braxton is now happily involved and in love with a Nigerian man. She recently opened up about him on Wendy Williams’ show. She described him as “lunchable” after three months of dating. She also revealed in a tweet that she was scheduled to fly to Nigeria with him to meet his mother. Braxton has yet to name her mystery man but her tweets have more or less revealed how smitten she is with him.
