Woman gives birth on supermarket floor while customers carry on as if nothing is happening
A 28-year-old woman gave birth inside a supermarket, but most of the customers carried on queuing to the counter as if nothing was happening.
In a video uploaded on YouTube, the woman can be seen cradling her bump while telling the cashier that she is about to give birth in an incident that took place in Nazyvaevsk, central Russia.
The video, which was taken from a CCTV footage, later shows the pregnant woman clutching the side of the counter before dropping to the floor.
With the help of the cashier, 35-year-old Elena Barsukova, the unidentified woman gave birth to a baby boy just 11 minutes later.

UNEXPECTED ROLE
“There was no time to think,” said Elena, who didn’t expect she would take on the role of midwife that day. She admitted that she panicked when the woman told her that she was about to give birth.
Thankfully, a colleague and two shoppers came to help as well. The manager of the supermarket, 40-year-old Anna Tsybulskaya, quickly called an ambulance when she was informed of the situation.
“Everything happened so quickly. An employee came running from the supermarket floor and said that a girl was giving birth there, so I called an ambulance and then went to see what was happening. By then the child was already on the mother’s tummy. The baby was born before the ambulance arrived,” she explained.
Paramedics can be seen in the CCTV footage arriving at the store and placing the woman on a stretcher.
PROUD OF THE STAFF
The store manager was proud of what her staff did during the situation. “The most important thing is that everything ended well. The baby is healthy, and we know that they are already at home. He was named Ivan,” she said.
A similar situation happened to Alexis Swinney, who was filmed by her husband giving birth in a moving car.
The 25-year-old mother delivered her seventh baby in a moving vehicle while on the way to the hospital. Her husband, Dominique Swinney, recorded the entire incident while driving.
They also posted the video on Instagram four days ago. In the caption, Alexis explains that there was "something beyond special about getting to deliver" her own baby.
She added: "I honestly think that God allowed me to deliver safely in the car, instead of making it to the hospital."
