Zoë Kravitz shows off her diamond engagement ring in recent picture with her fiancé
It’s been nine months since Zoë Kravitz got secretly engaged to her boyfriend Karl Glusman, and after sharing the news on her Rolling Stone cover last month, the actress finally addressed the engagement on social media.
The “Big Little Lies” actress posed next to Glusman at the global premiere of her most recent project, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” in Paris on November 8. She took to Instagram on Monday to share a pic from that day, captioning it with a diamond ring and hearts emojis.
The cute couple made head turns as they gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes, but beyond her exquisite Saint Laurent sequined black a pink dress, or his pristine black suit, it was Kravitz’s ring that caught all the attention from fans and the media.
She rested her hand on her fiancé’s stomach, the perfect position to show off her silver band, a piece that, according to The Zoe Report, is an antique ring purchased from Mia Moross, a New York-based curator.
The ring features a "gorgeous rose-cut diamond band," and dates back to the late 18th century.
Karl shared the same black and white pic on his account and captioned “you make me feel like a junkie.”
THE SECRET ENGAGEMENT
Zoë said “yes” to her boyfriend back in February, almost a year and a half into their relationship, but she opted for keeping the good news out of the spotlight. It was last month, as she was being interviewed for her Rolling Stone cover evoking the one her mother did years ago, that she revealed, nonchalantly, her engagement.
After the interviewer noticed the silver and gold band on Kravitz’s ring finger, the star confessed “Oh yeah, I’m engaged. I haven’t told anyone yet — I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.”
Karl wanted to surprise Zoë in Paris, but their work schedules got in the way, and he ended up popping the question in the coziness of their living room. “I was in sweatpants,” recalled Kravitz. “I think I was a little drunk.”
“I could feel his heart beating so fast — I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him!” Glusman dropped to one knee, and Kravitz, not knowing what was coming said “ ‘Yes, stretch! Stretch to calm your heart down!’ ”
He then pulled out the box with the sing, which Zoë says is the one she had been dreaming about.
She’s very much in love and happy to share her life with Glusman, with whom she can be her “weirdest self.” “It’s so relaxing to be around someone where you can be a hundred percent how you feel,” she stated.
FLAUNTING THE RING FOR MONTHS
Even though is the first time Zoë posts a pic making a clear allusion to her engagement ring, the 29-year-old has been flaunting her ring on Instagram for months. Fans never thought anything of it because most people weren’t even aware she had a boyfriend.
Kravitz shared pics with friends, with her dad, Lenny Kravitz, in Disney, and more, and in all of them, the band is visible on her finger. She also wore it to the MET Gala in May.
This just proves that subtleness really does run in the family, and Zoë keeping her engagement a secret is not that surprising considering that her mom, Lisa Bonnet, married Jason Momoa last year and only revealed the news a few months ago.
