Carrie Underwood turned CMA into a 'gender reveal' by announcing her baby's sex from stage
Country musicians Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley co-hosted the 52nd Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night. The pair had their usual humorous banter as they hosted.
Paisley jokingly pressurized his co-host to reveal the name and automatically, the sex of her second baby. The last time Underwood was pregnant, Paisley had accidentally mentioned the sex of her baby.
During Wednesday’s CMA event, a heavily pregnant Carrie Underwood, 35, was put on the spot by her co-host Brad Paisley, 46. The country singer insisted that Underwood shares the baby name she’d come up with for her second baby.
Paisley nagged,
"Seriously, Carrie, give me a baby hint. Johnny or June? Keith or Nicole. Garth or Trisha. Tim or Faith. George or Tammy. Waylon or Willie?”

Underwood was off guard and responded to the quip saying, “What? That doesn’t even make sense.” Eventually, she gave in to his nagging and said, "Oh, my gosh, Willie, it's a Willie!"
The country singer was thrilled and joked:
"Carrie blew it! Trending worldwide! Way bigger than when I did it, and worse.”
The last time Underwood was pregnant, Paisley had accidentally revealed the sex of her first child. He even joked about the incident during their monologue before pressing her to reveal her latest baby’s name.
The pair had fun at the event and Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, 38, was roped in on their friendly banter. Paisley had actually started off the evening by teasing his co-star saying:
“Tonight, we’re going to reveal something even more exciting. Who the father is. … Mike, we’re all rooting for you, buddy. What’s your gut feeling, here, Carrie?”
Underwood responded “I like Mike’s chances,” as her husband looked on from the audience and smiled. Fisher married the country star in July 2010, and they are parents to another son Isaiah Michael, 3½.
Besides joking around with her co-presenter, Underwood also had the chance to captivate the audience with a performance of her song “Love Wins.” Her husband appeared spell-bound as he looked lovingly at his wife’s rendition.
