Diddy's ex-girlfriend of 13 years and mother of 3 of his kids Kim Porter found dead in her home

Kim Porter, the mother of P. Diddy’s three children has died at the age of 47. Diddy is reportedly devastated as celebrities mourn her death.

P. Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Kim Porter was found dead in her L.A. home on Thursday.

According to TMZ, Porter was discovered lifeless in her home in Toluca Lake around 12 noon after police responded to an emergency call reporting a patient in cardiac arrest.

EVENTS SURROUNDING HER DEATH

Further investigation revealed Porter was suffering from flu-like symptoms and possibly pneumonia for weeks. A source said she was in touch with her doctor the previous day because she was feeling unwell. She was taking Saline and vitamins to treat herself and slept early the previous night. When family members tried to wake her the following day, she was non-responsive.

There were no illegal drugs found in Porter’s home. Detectives also ruled out foul play. An autopsy and toxicology tests have yet to be performed to identify Porter’s cause of death.

DIDDY IN SHOCK

Diddy is reportedly shocked and devastated by the news. Shortly after Porter’s death, his rep confirmed Porter’s passing and asked for privacy. Diddy was spotted at Porter’s home on Thursday and was “extremely cooperative and understandably upset,” according to detectives.

He also posted on Instagram praying for protection. In black and white and big, bold letters, he wrote,

“God Protect Me From ANYTHING That Wasn’t Sent By You.”

DIDDY AND PORTER'S RELATIONSHIP

Diddy dated Porter on and off for 13 years. They began dating in 1994 and broke up for the last time in 2007. The exes share three children – 12-year-old twin girls Jessie James and D’Lila and 20-year-old son Christian. Porter also has a son, Quincy Brown, with Al B. Sure.

Diddy and Porter remained the best of friends following the end of their relationship. In 2008, the rapper spoke of Porter as “an incredible mother” and added,

“We’ve been part of each other’s lives for many years and I have always admired her courage and strength. We’re the best of friends.”

Likewise, Porter considered Diddy her family despite breaking up. Following their split, she opened up to OK Magazine about their relationship.

“We may be apart, but we’ll always be together as a family.It’s not a situation where two people break up and they can’t stand each other. We’re still friends so it makes for an easy breakup.”

One of Porter’s final Instagram posts was a photo of Diddy and their children with a caption that read, “LOVE.” She shared it on Diddy’s birthday on November 4.

She also posted another message to greet her ex.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY @diddy on this day a GENIUS was born ,may you continue to be the Driving Force of ENERGY that GOD created you to be !! Thank you for giving me the best gifts of life our CHILDREN !!”

CELEBRITIES MOURN PORTER'S DEATH

Celebrity friends shared in Diddy’s grief. Among them, Kimora Lee Simmons, a close friend, was spotted sobbing outside Porter’s home watching her body being taken away by the coroner. Lil Kim is reportedly flying out to be with the family.

Rihanna posted a lengthy tribute sharing a photo of Kim with Diddy and their family. An excerpt from her message read,

"This is heavy. heartbroken about this man. we lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out. so many will be affected by this, some won’t even know why...but the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit.”

Wendy Williams tweeted her condolences as Tevin Campbell wrote his shock saying Porter was “too young” to leave this world. Missy Elliot 's "heart aches" for Porter's children and 50 Cent said,

“I know Puff is hit right now, he loved her for real, soul mate type [expletive]”

Alyssa Milano, Viola Davis, Lenny Kravitz also tweeted tributes praying for Porter to rest in peace.

Porter was a model and actress who appeared on Diddy’s show “I Want to Work for Diddy.” She was last seen in public with her family at the premiere of her son Quincy’s film, “The Holiday Calendar” last month.

With Porter's death, Diddy holds the sole responsibility of being a parent to their children and she couldn't have left them with a better father. Diddy has proven to be an exceptional dad in the past. In several occasions, he celebrates his children with posts on his Instagram. In September, he made special mention of their twins posting a photo of them at the start of middle school. He also took them to Beyonce and Jay-Z's concert and even treated them to a backstage photo with the songstress.

Diddy's heart may be breaking now but he'll eventually find the strength to be there for their children who need him most today.
