Kurt Russell glad that Kate Hudson had a daughter calling little Rani a ‘fantastic addition’

Kurt Russel is delighted to have a new grandchild from his stepdaughter daughter Kate Hudson.

The 67-year-old actor said he is excited to spend Christmas with Kate’s daughter Rani Rose, as reported by PEOPLE.

“She is the sixth grandchild, Kate’s first daughter. Along with the other five now, it is obviously a fantastic addition, and it will be fun just to watch her little eyes looking at the lights on the Christmas tree and taking it all in for the first time,” said Russell, 67, during an interview at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix film “The Christmas Chronicles.”

Aside from Kate’s three children, Goldie and Kurt also has three grandchildren from Oliver Hudson – daughter Rio Laura, 5, and sons Bodhi, 8, and Wilder Brooks, 11.

The “Death Proof” actor also said that he noticed Kate acting differently with her daughter than her sons. Rani is the 39-year-old star’s third child. She has a son, Bingham, 7, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, and another son, Ryder, 14, with ex-husband Chris Robinson.

“She’s a little different with the little girl, I think at this stage, than I remember her being with her boys [at this age],” Kurt said.

The actor also said of little Rani Rose: “She’s doing great. This will be a first-Christmas experience. She’s 6 weeks old. Obviously she won’t remember it, but it’ll start setting the tone.”

Kate is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and her former husband, Bill Hudson. Goldie and Kurt have been together since 1983.

Aside from Kate’s three children, Goldie and Kurt also has three grandchildren from Oliver Hudson – daughter Rio Laura, 5, and sons Bodhi, 8, and Wilder Brooks, 11.

Oliver, who is also Goldie’s son from Bill, is starring alongside Kurt in “The Christmas Chronicles,” which was scheduled for release on November 22, 2018.

Kate earlier expressed her love for her stepfather who practically raised her as his own in celebration of his 67th birthday.

Kate lovingly shared a photo of the two of them holding hands inside the cockpit of a plane. In her caption, she gushed, “Love this man! Happy birthday Pa! #LuckyGirl #AlwaysHisBirdie #StPattysDayBirthday”.
