Jenna Bush is happy George H.W. Bush and wife are ‘back together’ in emotional tribute
George H.W. Bush's granddaughter Jenna shares touching details of her grandfather's life.
As America mourns for one of its most respected statesmen, the family of George H.W. Bush comes to terms with its own grief and seeks refuge in loving memories.
Jenna Bush Hager, one of the former President's 17 grandchildren, paid tribute to her grandfather on Instagram just hours after his death on November 30, 2018.
DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER OF PRESIDENTS
Jenna and her twin, Barbara, are the daughters of former President George W. Bush, the deceased 41st President's eldest son.
Jenna is married to Henry Chase Hager, and the couple shares two daughters, Margaret Laura, and Poppy Louise. Poppy is named in honor of her grandfather, "Poppy" being the nickname his grandchildren had attributed to George H. W. Bush.
Jenna shared one of her fondest memories of her grandfather, who spent the night before his debate with his rival for the presidency Michael Dukakis babysitting Jenna and her sister.
A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO HER GRANDFATHER
Hours after the death of the 41st President had been announced, Jenna posted a heartfelt tribute to her grandfather on her Instagram account. She posted a photo of her grandfather, herself and her sister, captioned:
“Waking up missing this giant of a man who gave me everything. He taught me and my family about service, family, decency, the power of gentle words and a beautiful heart."
A SWEET CARTOON DEPICTING HER GRANDPARENTS AND DECEASED AUNT
Jenna's second post confirmed her declaration that she was glad her grandparents were back together again. She posted a sweet cartoon by Marshall Ramsey which illustrates the former President entering Heaven, reunited with his wife Barbara and their daughter Robin.
THE DEATH OF HIS DAUGHTER DEEPENED THE FORMER PRESIDENT'S FAITH
The death of George H. W. Bush, 94, is the second blow to the Bush family in less than a year. Former First Lady Barbara Bush, 92, passed away in April 2018, at the age of 92. The day after her death, the former President was hospitalized.
In 1953, George and Barbara Bush's tiny 3-year-old daughter Robin was diagnosed with leukemia and given 6 months to live. The treatments she was subjected to were ineffective, and she passed away before her 4th birthday,
The former President would later say that it was his faith in God that had enabled him to survive the crippling blow of his daughter's death. Her sweet words became part of the Bush family legacy:
"I love you more than tongue can say."

“I USED TO WORRY ABOUT DEATH. BUT NOW IN SOME WAYS, I LOOK FORWARD TO IT.”
Jenna shared a touching conversation she had with her grandfather shortly before his death, in which he told her he no longer feared death but looked forward to his reunion with deceased loved ones. He expressed a longing to see his mother and his daughter, Robin:
"I hope I see Robin, and I hope I see my mom. I haven’t yet figured it out if it will be Robin as the three-year-old that she was, this kind of chubby, vivacious child or if she’ll come as a middle-aged woman."
Jenna shared one of her fondest memories of her grandfather, who spent the night before his debate with his rival for the presidency Michael Dukakis babysitting Jenna and her sister - and looking for Barbara's lost toy.
George H.W. Bush did a parachute jump on his 90th birthday, which followed similar jumps to celebrate his 80th and his 85th birthdays. Sadly he passed away before his 95th birthday, and one more leap into the skies.
The former President's body is lying in state at the the U.S. Capitol, and will be transported to his native Texas for burial next to his wife, Barbara, and their daughter Robin.
