The 2020 presidential elections may still be nearly 2 years away, but the candidates are already lining up and pitching their tents.

Former vice president Joe Biden has declared unequivocally that he is “the most qualified person in the country” to be the next president of the United States, reported the Washington Post on December 4, 2018.

“I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president. The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that have been in my wheelhouse, that I’ve worked on my whole life.”

BIDEN SAID HE IS A "GAFFE MACHINE"

Biden spoke about the possibility of running for the highest post in the land during a visit to the University of Montana. Biden presented himself as an experienced politician, adept at handling crisis and difficulties with aplomb, which he defined as “the plight of the middle class and foreign policy.” Biden admitted he is also what he calls a “gaffe machine,” but that it would not prevent him from running for office:

“I am a gaffe machine, but my God what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can’t tell the truth,”

Biden will be conferring with his family about the possibility of running for President in the coming weeks. Biden will be the oldest candidate in the history of the elections, and the oldest President ever if he should win against President Donald Trump.

OBAMA HAS SHOWN BIDEN SUPPORT

Former President Barack Obama posted a rare selfie of himself and Joe Biden on social media on September 8, 2018.

Obama has always avoided selfies, and he has famously only taken them with close friends and family. The photo portrays the two politicians smiling and is captioned:

"My brother and friend @JoeBiden is back on Instagram. Welcome back, Joe - you will always be one of the rare exceptions to my no-selfie rule."

If Joe Biden does decide to make a bid for the top spot at the Oval Office he will certainly be able to count on the support of the Obamas.

Biden has stated that if he decides not to run, he will throw his full weight and support behind the Democratic candidate in a bid to oust Donald Trump and prevent his second term.
