The show was broadcast on December 3, 1968, and got commonly known as the ‘68 Comeback Special that helped relaunch the icon’s singing career. Blake took to Twitter on the day to share the news as he tweeted:

"50 years ago, Elvis Presley's Comeback Special aired on @nbc. And on February 17, I'll be hosting a special #ElvisAllStarTribute on the same network to honor The King! See Y'all there."

As a tribute to Elvis, the NBC put together the special to honor Elvis’s role in history with the Elvis All-Star Tribute. The show got filmed on October 10 and October 11 in Los Angeles and is packed with performances from several iconic singers.

Performances on the first night by the likes of Shawn Mendes, Mac Davis, Darius Rucker, Post Malone, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, and Keith Urban, is set to entertain while delivering their renditions of Elvis songs.

The second night is packed with artists like Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, and John Fogerty. Blake chose to sing ‘Suspicious Minds,’ while Shawn Mendes gave his version of ‘Hound Dog,’ and Ballerini sang ‘Always On My Mind.’

Pre-recorded songs by John Legend, Yolanda Adams, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Alessia Cara, and Ed Sheeran are also included in the special.

Rare interviews of Elvis will also be included in the broadcast, which will be hosted in part by Lisa Marie Presley, and granddaughter Riley Keough.

Earlier in the year, Elvis’s former girlfriend, Linda Thompson took to social media to share a rare photo of the rock icon that she captioned:

“Fabulous Flashback Friday- one of the hundreds of times boarding the Lisa Marie - When all are one, and one is all. To be a rock and not to roll. And she's buying the stairway to heaven” ”

Linda was the love of Elvis’s life after his divorce from Priscilla on January 8, 1973, while also just been crowned Miss Tennessee.

Blake also got to perform a song with the love of his life, Gwen Stephani recently as they brought out a music video to her song, ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas.’

It was the couple’s second duet together, as they sang their first duet back in 2016, on a song by Shelton, ‘Go Ahead and Break My Heart,’ and appeared on his album, ‘If I’m Honest.’

Their music video quickly climbed the charts on iTunes and is becoming a popular Christmas tune this year.
