The royal household is no exception and is, in fact, the hallmark for traditions. From gifts opening, meal taking and outdoor activities, the royal family got rules surrounding certain events, and Christmas is not left out.

Christmas tradition for the royals will have Harry and Meghan apart through the morning of Christmas day ; the royal wives are to be served a light breakfast in bed. The husbands, on the other hand, will have a hearty meal early in the morning in the running room.
Darren McGrady, the former royal chef said:
“On Christmas day, the ladies generally opt for a light breakfast of sliced fruit, half a grape fruit, toast and coffee delivered to their rooms. The queen’s tray is delivered at exactly 9am. However, the males in the family typically head downstairs to the dining room where they partake in a hearty breakfast”.

McGrady also said:
“Their meal include eggs, bacon and mushrooms, kipper and grilled kidneys to set them up for the 11am church service at st. Mary Magdalene. The traditions also dictates that everyone opens their presents on Christmas eve. This was gotten from the German festivities - Helinger Abend.”
Although the Christmas morning tradition is obligatory, it does not entirely prevent the women from joining the men if they wish for a fuller meal.

Another tradition is the pheasant shooting party on boxing day. This part of the festivities does not seem to go down well with the Duchess of Sussex. It's also been reported that Prince Harry may not partake in this year’s shooting due to Meghan's strong anti-blood sports feelings.
This is coming after speculations that Meghan's birth plan might be breaking a major royal tradition.

Markle's royal marriage was a dream come true, but it also comes with its hitches stemming from new and somewhat weird royal traditions.
We hope she doesn't find her first royal Christmas absurd.
