BABY NUMBER FOUR

“New Year, New Baby,” Bryant wrote on his Instagram to reveal the exciting news of his “Baby Mamba on the way.”

The announcement was also accompanied by a caption that read,

“'Vanessa and I are beyond excited to announce that we are expecting another #mambacita to go along with Natalia, Gianna and Bianka.”

The new child will be another girl, the ball player’s fourth by the time she’s born. His youngest, Bianka is two and can look forward to having another playmate soon. Vanessa also said this much when she announced her family’s joy over her pregnancy in her social media page.

“Kobe and I are so happy to add another baby blessing to our family! Bianka will have a new baby sibling to play with and Natalia and Gianna are super excited to welcome another little baby sister to love.”

IN THE ABSENCE OF A BABY BOY

Kobe and Vanessa have been hoping to conceive a boy to add to their all-girl brood. It would be great to have someone Kobe can train to follow into his ball playing footsteps. This doesn’t mean though that he hasn’t already. His daughter Gianna is proving to be her father’s protégé. The 12-year-old is currently a member of her school’s basketball team. Under the guidance of her father, she’s been showing the same “mamba mentality” the NBA legend possesses.

KOBE'S POST-NBA PURSUITS

Since retiring from the NBA in 2016, Kobe has been devoting his time to his family and other endeavors. He ventured into filmmaking with his animated short, “Dear Basketball” which is based on a letter he wrote when he announced his retirement. The film won an Academy Award in 2018 for Best Animated Short Film.

Kobe is also the host of “Detail,” a show streaming on ESPN +. In the show, the former Lakers star analyzes playoffs “through intense film study,” according to USA Today.

Kobe may have retired his jerseys but he’s still very much involved in basketball – both professionally and personally with his children. Meanwhile, he’s also very a much a father doting on his princesses with a new one expected to steal his heart all over again.
