Kevin Bacon Turns 63 – Look Back at a Rare Joint Photo from His Big Family Reunion in 2018

Kevin Bacon has proudly shared the best family moments with his fans to see on Instagram through the years. As he turns 63, it's amazing to look back at how he's remained the family-oriented man that his supporters have grown to love.

If there is one thing that remained constant in Kevin Bacon's life throughout the pandemic, it's his close bond with his family. The actor has been spotted out and about with his wife Kyra Sedgwick and their children Sosie and Travis.

Back in March, the Bacons celebrated Sosie's birthday, and the "Footloose" actor had nothing but praises for his darling daughter on her special day. Although the young woman is already 29, her proud dad still referred to her as his "beautiful little girl."

Bacon may be a world-famous actor, but the roles he is best at are being a doting dad and a loving husband. He is immensely proud of his family. He and Sedgewick have been married for about 33 years now, and have remained close to their adult children through it all.

The award-winning power couple met when Bacon performed in theatre; he was 19 at the time, but he had no problem winning the heart of his then-12-year-old would-be wife. Years later, both of their children follow in their footsteps in showbusiness with Travis being a musician and an actor like his dad and Sosie, an actress.

When the couple met again on the set of the 1988 PBS remake of the play Lemon Skye, Sedgwick was not so impressed with him. In fact, at the time, she thought he was a bit too confident about himself.

Meanwhile, it was the complete opposite for Bacon – he was already smitten. He then decided to put in the work to win her over by taking the whole cast out to dinner, only that she always declined the offer, leaving him stuck with a big check and nothing to show for it.

He switched tactics when they filmed a scene where he massaged some oil into her back. He recommended a masseuse at his hotel afterward, hoping to run into her after her session; and it worked.

The couple has been together ever since, and they embarked on their life-long adventure together. Through the years, they've kept their youthful spirits that contribute greatly to their lasting relationship.

After all these years and all their accolades as professional actors, Bacon once revealed that his proudest accomplishment remains his children. He said:

"Being a parent [means] bringing them up and trying to teach them and have them learn by example to be good, decent, compassionate, hardworking people."

It's not just his immediate family that the actor is close to, as he previously shared a rare joint photo with the rest of the Bacon family back in 2018. Tagged "BaconDay," the picture showed members of the Bacon family seated together on a couch with tables littered with plates of eaten dinner in the background.

In the photo, he tagged his fellow Bacons, Karin, Elinor, Michael, Kira, and Hilda. He admitted that those in the photo were some of his "favorite" family members.

Now that he's about to celebrate another year around the sun, it's exciting to see how he plans to celebrate it with Sedgwick and the rest of his family this time around. Happy birthday, Kevin Bacon!
