Convicted pedophile reportedly confesses to 1996 murder of 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey
The horrific 22-year-old JonBenét Ramsey murder mystery may be on the verge of being solved.
The unsolved murder of tiny six-year-old beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey has haunted America since December 26, 1996.
Now a man has come forward and revealed a convicted pedophile's written confession to her murder.
"I let her slip and her head bashed in half and I watched her die. It was an accident."
Gary Oliva
A LETTER TO A FRIEND REVEALS ALL
Michael Vail of Ventura, California was horrified to receive a letter from a high school classmate currently serving a 10-year sentence in a Colorado prison detailing his obsession, and the murder of JonBenét, which he claimed was an "accident.
"I HURT A LITTLE GIRL"
This is not the first time Gary Oliva has shocked Vail with a sordid revelation. Back in 1996, Vail received a phone call from Oliva in which he told him that he had "hurt" a little girl.
A HORRIFYING SUSPICION
When the horrified Vail saw the news of JonBenét's murder in Boulder, where he his friend was on that very same day, he immediately reached out to the Police through a tip line, but was never contacted by investigators.
A SUSPECT IN THE MURDER CASE
Oliva, 54, was at that time a registered sex offender, and he lived 10 blocks away from the Ramsay home.
He was immediately investigated, and was considered a suspect by the Boulder Police, but a DNA test cleared him, as far as the investigation was concerned.
In 2015 former Boulder police chief Mark Beckner admitted that the crime scene evidence from JonBenét's case might have been compromised.
The predator is due for a parole hearing in 2020, and may conceivably go free.
OLIVA HAD HUNDREDS OF PHOTOS OF JONBENÉT
When he was arrested in 2016 for child pornography, Oliva had 335 photographs of JonBenét on his phone, including several from the tiny beauty queen's autopsy.
OLIVA CLAIMS HE CONFESSED TO POLICE
Oliva revealed in his letters to Vail that he has confessed to Police that he had killed JonBenét and several other children:
"I pleaded guilty to the murder of JonBenét as well as countless charges of assaults and sexual abuse against many children, there were various agreements made by me and the court which I signed many pages."
Vail has presented the letter he received from Oliva to the Boulder Police, in the hopes that the confession will bring closure the JonBenét's family, who were suspected of involvement in her death.
Vail is eager to see Oliva charged with the murder, since the predator is due for a parole hearing in 2020, and may conceivably go free.
POLICE HAS NO UPDATES ON THE INVESTIGATION
Former Boulder District Attorney Stan Garnett has declared that none of the information contained in the letters Gary Oliva sent to Michael is news to the Police.
Boulder Police revealed that Oliva had confessed to the murder of JonBenét several times in the past, as well as the killing of several other children.
None of his confessions were substantiated, and Police discounted them as ploys to gain attention from the media and notoriety.
Investigators believe that more than one perpetrator was involved in JonBenét Ramsay's murder, and think it unlikely that the case will ever be solved.
In a related story, 20 years after her death, the murder of child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey is still unsolved.
