Appalling footage shows infant falling out of a moving vehicle still strapped into car seat

A dash cam captured a 2-year-old child falling out of a moving car onto a busy street.

A Minnesota driver had the fright of his life on January 14 when a child strapped to a car seat fell out of the car in front of him onto the busy road in Mankato.

Chad Cheddar Mock's experience was captured by his dashboard camera and has since gone viral on social media.

“The young girl was very aware. She wasn’t crying when I picked her up. When more strangers were approaching she was a little more frigidity.”

A CHILD LYING HELPLESS ON A BUSY ROAD

When Mock saw the child, dressed in bright pink, drop onto the road ahead of him, he immediately stopped.

He ran out, waving at oncoming traffic to stop, until he reached the child. Mock later described the 2-year-old girl's demeanor as "aware" but reported that she started crying when more people arrived.

THE MOTHER REFUSED MEDICAL HELP FOR THE CHILD

The driver of the vehicle from which the child had fallen returned to the scene and arrived at the same time as the police.

The woman, the child's mother, refused medical help for her child. She spoke briefly to the police and left the scene with the toddler.

CAR SEAT WAS LOOSE IN THE BACK OF THE CAR

As far as the police could ascertain, even though the little girl was securely strapped into the car seat, the device was not fastened to the vehicle. As a result, when the car door opened, the car seat simply dropped out onto the road.

MOTHER FACES CHARGES

Minnesota authorities will be laying charges of child endangerment and child restraint system not fastened against the toddler's parent.

Mock is thankful that he was present and reacted quickly to prevent a horrific tragedy:

“I don’t know the names of people involved or the circumstances on how this happened. I am just happy that the baby seemed to be alright. I was surprised that the parents refused medical help for the child.”

The little girl most likely owes her gallant Good Samaritan her life.

Another video featuring a toddler has gone viral on the internet with over 7 million views - but for very different reasons.

The clip from North Carolina shows a toddler sitting in resolute silence on a couch while her parents introduce her to her brand new baby brother.

The little girl is unmoved by her parent's entreaties that she "kiss the baby." Her mother's claim that the baby is "just like your baby doll" does not convince her.

Finally, her parents relent and take the baby away, and her mom gave her a hug and a cuddle.
