Richard Gere Has a Grown-up Son Who Has All the Beauty of His Father's Youth
Richard Gere's only son Homer James Jigme Gere is all grown up, and he is the spitting image of his legendary father.
Homer, who was born in February 2000, is the child of the 69-year-old actor and actress Carey Lowell.
In spite of his parents’ divorce, Homer is very close to his dad.
From 1991-1995, Richard was married to supermodel Cindy Crawford. In November 2002, he tied the knot with Carey.
The former couple separated after 11 years of marriage. They spent three years in highly contested divorce proceedings in New York County Supreme Court. In October 2016, the case was settled.
In spite of his parents’ divorce, Homer is very close to his dad. A lot of people noticed a striking resemblance between the two. Homer is a lookalike copy of Richard in his young years.
Richard, who started in films in the 1970s, playing a supporting role in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar," married Spanish activist Alejandra Silva in early April 2018 after four years of dating.
In contrast to many celebrities, the couple didn't host a major and expensive party; rather, they wedded in secrecy in a civil ceremony.
The most detectable part of their relationship is the age difference. In spite of the fact that Alejandra is way younger than Richard, that doesn't appear to trouble them.
In August 2018, the couple announced that they expect their first child together. They didn't reveal the gender of their future baby yet.
Richard currently serves an active role on the board of directors for Healing the Divide, an organization that helps and supports several worldwide initiatives that promote peace and justice.
As for Alejandra, she is in charge of Rais Fundacion, a non-profit organization that aims to end homelessness in Spain. She has previously slept on the street to experience what homeless people go through every day.
