A DREAM FULFILLED

On January 19, Rivera fulfilled her wish to have her dream wedding. She told People she made an agreement with Waka years ago that if they make it to their fifth year, they’d have a traditional wedding ceremony.

“Today my dream has come true,” she confirms.

“I am marrying my best friend and soulmate all over again. When God made Waka, he wrote my name beside his.”

Meanwhile, Waka expressed his love for Tammy all over again by telling People he saw himself spending forever with her early on.

“Eight years ago I remember chasing Tammy down, grabbing her by the arm. I had to keep her purse so she wouldn’t leave me, and I knew then that she would forever be mine.”

“I never knew what love was until I met Tammy. Today I am giving her a dream wedding that she always wanted.”

THE BEAUTIFUL CEREMONY AND THE BRIDE'S CONTROVERSIAL DRESS

A short clip from the couple’s renewal of vows was shared by The Shade Room. It revealed a romantic setting overlooking the ocean. It also gave a glimpse of the bride looking like a goddess in a long white dress.

Some fans, however, weren’t impressed. They found the lace ensemble inappropriate and too revealing for a wedding. One user wrote,

“That dress ...not appropriate for a wedding but to each his own”

Another echoed the same thought.

“That dress for a wedding?”

While another commenter added,

“That is a horrible wedding dress”

Others defended Tammy and insisted she looked good regardless of the kind of dress she wore. Plus, it was her wedding so she’s entitled to wear what she wants.

“all keep saying the dress isnt appropriate. The women is already married to this man. She can dress how every she wants.”

“…even if it was a wedding or not dress she look good. And whatever bride wants the bride gets…”

Waka could not be seen from the clip because his body was hidden behind one of the white curtains draped at the corners of the box they stood in. Bridesmaids dressed in red stood in a row in one side of the glass-paneled venue.

A clip from Tammy’s Instagram story also revealed her manicured hand bearing her engagement and wedding rings. Meanwhile, Flocka shared a video of Tammy’s 13-year-old daughter, Charlie having a good time during the reception.

A NEW SPARKLER FOR THE OCCASION

A few days earlier, Tammy shed light on their upcoming destination wedding. Sharing a clip of the massive diamond engagement ring Waka gave her for their anniversary, the “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star wrote:

“Jan 21st we will be married for 5 years!. We always said if we survive 5 years we will do the whole traditional ceremony, The Rings, The wedding, The Dress THE WHOLE SHEBANG!! So I’m happy to announce we will be having a destination wedding the right way with our mothers by our side on Jan 19! Every since I seen the episode of Martin when him and Gina got married on the beach that was my dream wedding.”

WHEN THINGS WERE ROCKY

Tammy and Waka had their fair share of marriage trials. In 2016, they split up due to Waka’s infidelity. They eventually found their way back to each other though Tammy told Waka she would never love him the same. The 31-year-old opened up to Essence about the trust issues she harbored since they split.

“One thing I can say that’s hard about repairing a marriage when it’s been broken is the trust part. Being able to trust them because once you’ve faced infidelity, it’s hard. Having a positive mindset really helped me because if you think nothing but positive thoughts then that’s what’s going to happen. But he changed completely.”

After Tammy told him she would never love him the same way, Waka agreed with her and said,

“I know. Because you’re going to love me more. And I promise you that.”

Seems like he was on point with that one.
