Kim Porter's cause of death officially revealed after the model suddenly passed away at 47
Kim Porter’s cause of death has been revealed ending the two-month wait for an explanation for her mysterious death.
More than two months after her death, it can now be confirmed that Kim Porter died of pneumonia.
The results of the autopsy performed on the 47-year-old revealed she suffered from lobar pneumonia at the time of her death. The kind of pneumonia is indicated by inflammation of a lobe of the lungs.
PORTER'S DEATH
On the morning of November 15, Porter, the mother of P. Diddy’s three children was found unresponsive in her home in San Fernando Valley. She reportedly died of “natural causes” after tending to flu-like symptoms. Prior to her death, she was suffering from nasal congestion and would cough out phlegm with blood. She was also experiencing excessive sweating, body aches, and a sore throat. She ran a fever of 102 degrees.
A visit to the doctor resulted in the prescription of Toradol, an anti-inflammatory drug along with saline fluids and vitamins. She reportedly watched TV the night before her death before retiring to bed.
Her lifeless body was discovered at 11:30 am with blood in her nose and white froth on her mouth. There were empty bottles by her bedside along with Pedialyte, sports drinks, and a bowl of tomato soup.
Her body was screened for alcohol and drugs and came out negative. Viruses such as adenovirus and influenza A and B were also ruled out.
LIVING WITH HER LOSS
Porter’s death was a shock to her loved ones especially P. Diddy whom she had a relationship with for 13 years. The rapper was devastated when he heard the news and shared a series of tributes to the woman he referred to as his “soulmate.”
Porter is survived by her four children, three of which she shares with Diddy. Last month, her family paid tribute to her on what would have been her 48th birthday.
