Rapper Bow Wow and a woman he had a fight with were both arrested this weekend. According to reports, the 31-year-old born Shad Gregory Moss and his alleged ex-girlfriend Leslie Holden had an altercation outside a Midtown Atlanta Building before the arrests occurred.

In their separate statements to officials of the Fulton County Sherriff’s Office, both parties claimed the other was the aggressor prompting authorities to book them both for battery charges. They each suffered minor injuries with Moss bearing scratches on his face as evident in his mugshot.

A STATEMENT FROM BOW WOW'S ATTORNEY

Moss’s attorney, Joe S. Habachy released a statement clearing his client of any wrongdoing. He claims the “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” star was “wrongfully arrested” and insisted he was the victim of “an out of control intoxicated female.” He added,

“The only two independent witnesses both corroborated his [Moss’s] version of events indicating that Ms. Holden was simply out of control and was without a doubt the primary aggressor.”

Habachy further detailed what the rapper experienced during the fight.

“Ms. Holden beat him with a lamp, bit him on his side, and spit on him while Bow Wow continually made efforts to avoid her. Bow Wow suffered multiple injuries, some of which are visible in his mugshot. Ms. Holden's mugshot on the other hand speaks for itself, despite her allegation to police that she broke a fingernail.”

Moss was released on the same day with his bond set at $8,000. Meanwhile, it’s unclear if Holden, whose bond was set for the same amount was released as well. Neither she nor an attorney commented on her charges.

BOW WOW'S CAREER

Moss was christened Lil’ Bow Wow by Snoop Dogg who made him his protégé towards the end of the 1990s. He soon rose to fame with his own brand of rap music. He eventually branched out to acting with roles on television and film.

In 2016, he announced his retirement from rap and that Dogg was producing his final album, “NYLTH.” The Atlanta native who thought it a blessing to be able to retire before he was 30 intends to pursue acting and hosting further. He also plans to produce two shows this year.

BOW WOW'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS DAUGHTER

Moss is a father of a 7-year-old girl, Shai Moss whose mother is his ex-girlfriend, Joie Chavis. Just last week, the proud dad showcased his daughter’s rap skills sharing a video of the two of them spouting verses. The cute clip featured Shai sitting on her father’s shoulders as she alternated with him in rapping lyrics. It was clear from the clip that Moss and his daughter had a strong connection and not merely a common passion for rap music.

In June, Moss admitted to Rolling Out that since Shai’s entry into his world, he began to look at women differently and harbored more respect for them. With this thought about Moss, it’s hard to believe he would be embroiled with a domestic fight with a woman today. Even his lawyer insisted Moss felt strongly against laying a hand on another woman so it’s likely he may have been telling the truth.
