Patti LaBelle's youngest granddaughter has cute curly hair & looks like her grandma in new video
Patti LaBelle’s 1-year-old granddaughter, Leyla, looks gorgeous in a recent clip shared by her mom on Instagram. The adorable tot has curly hair and is the vivid image of her “glamma,” as she and her sister refer to LaBelle.
She’s known as one of the most powerful soul singers in the entertainment industry, but whenever she’s not on stage or in front of the cameras, Patti LaBelle loves to enjoy her time with her beautiful granddaughters, Gia, 3, and Leyla, 1.
The girls, who have been stealing hearts on social media since they were babies, were born to LaBelle’s only son and manager, Zuri, and his beautiful wife, Lona.
Being the granddaughters of such an iconic star as Patti has its benefits, and since Gia will be celebrating her 4th birthday in the next few days, the girls started the celebrations early and are spending a vacation in Florida, staying at a luxurious five stars hotel & spa, as shown on Gia's Instagram.
While Gia enjoyed from the sun and “checked her emails from school,” little Leyla was caught by her mom sitting on a hanging egg chair, enjoying a kids’ song on her tablet and looking adorable in a black onesie with golden stars.
Leyla’s curly hair was perfectly styled, and she couldn’t stop smiling after noticing the camera pointed at her. She even threw a kiss to the lens at her mother’s request.
“Love you Ley,” the clip was captioned.
Fans took the comment section to gush about the gorgeous girl, and several mentioned she looks just like her big sister and their grandma. “So precious, looking like her big sister,” wrote one user. And another added, “Beautiful. Yes, both look like Patti.”
Leyla celebrated one year of life in an adorable unicorn-themed birthday bash last September, and in a series of videos Lona shared to Instagram, Patti is seen leading a chorus of guests while singing the birthday song as she gushed over her adorable granddaughter.
Now is Gia’s turn to celebrate, and LaBelle is making sure her little diva has a great time in Disneyland, where the girls already met Minnie and Mickey Mouse and were able to hang out with Elsa and Anna from “Frozen.”
Gushing about the girls to People a few months ago, Patti revealed that when it comes to her role as “glamma,” she’s not strict with the kids. Instead, she says, they “make a fool” of her.
“Any day that they come to my house, they take my jewelry, they play with everything, they break things, and I thought that I would have a fit. I don’t mind! I let the kids get away with things that I would never let anybody get away with. I would let them make a fool of me on holidays.”
Is not surprising to know that Gia and Leyla love to try on LaBelle’s jewelry since both girls are already fashionistas. Especially Gia, who is already showing off signs of being a diva, just like her grandmother.
“She likes to dance, and she plays like she’s on stage with the little pretend mic,” Patti said of the girl. “She’ll hold the mic and sing, ‘Patti, Patti!’ I think she’s making me lighter and happier and feeling like a young girl again.”
The Grammy Hall of Fame inductee is currently working on a dance album and an R&B album “for the first time in many, many years,” as she recently revealed to the Herald Tribune. But meanwhile, she’s taking a break from work to enjoy some time with Gia and Leyla.
