Patti LaBelle is known as one of the most iconic soul singers in the industry, but she’s also a doting grandmother of two. The 74-year-old was recently caught on video celebrating the birthday of little Leyla, and she was excited about the party.

Leyla is the youngest daughter of Zuri, LaBelle’s son and manager, and his wife, Lona. The adorable tot celebrated one year of life in an adorable unicorn-themed birthday bash, and aside from her mother, father and big sister Gia, the toddler also counted with the presence of her famous grandmother.

In a series of videos Lona shared to her daughter’s Instagram account, Patti is seen leading a chorus of guests while singing the birthday song as she gushed over her adorable granddaughter, and later, she cut the cake with the help of Leyla’s grandmother on her mom’s side.

LaBelle looked glamorous as usual in a long-sleeved black and white printed top and black pants, rocking a pair of long earrings, some rings, and long pastel-colored nails. The singer was all smiles as she encouraged her granddaughter Gia to blow the candles on Leyla’s unicorn birthday cake, and is also seen getting ready to serve the cake after cutting it.

Little Leyla, on the other hand, stole the show wearing a lilac dress with a unicorn print on it, and a small tiara adorning her short hair. Her sister Gia, 3, rocked a blue dress with striped sleeves and a unicorn on the side to keep up with the theme.

The siblings recently came back from her last summer vacations in Curazao, where Gia stole the show with her sassy poses and fashionable swimwear outfits. The girl is already showing off signs of being a diva, just like her grandmother, and Patti couldn’t be happier about it.

Last year she gushed to People about Gia inheriting her talents, saying:

“She likes to dance, and she plays like she’s on stage with the little pretend mic. She’ll hold the mic and sing, ‘Patti, Patti!’ I think she’s making me lighter and happier and feeling like a young girl again.”

Even though Patti and her son Zuri had a strain in their relationship back in 2016, when the singer started dating her younger drummer and Zuri was not pleased by the situation, it seems like the mother-son duo is now on good terms once again.

Gia and Leyla surely help the family to remain together, as they have become the center of attention with their adorable personalities.
