HOW KEITH URBAN AND NICOLE KIDMAN FELL IN LOVE

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban met for the first time met at the 2005 G'Day USA gala, which honors Australians in Los Angeles.

At the time Kidman didn't think Urban was interested in her, but in less than 6 months she knew he was the love of her life:

“It was my [38th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5 a.m. on my stoop in New York. That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.’”

A year later the couple wed in a romantic ceremony in Manly, Australia, in June 2006, but in October of the same year checked himself into the Betty Ford Center in California for treatment for his cocaine addiction.

"I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones who love and support me. One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have."

Kidman stood by him during his ordeal, and the country star has remained sober ever since. Their love and dedication are as apparent now as it was when they wed 13 years ago.
