Meghan Markle Praised for Wearing Elegant Red Dress & Showing Respect to Islamic Culture in Morocco
Fresh off baby shower festivities in the United States, Meghan Markle accompanied her husband, Prince Harry, on a working visit to Morocco and fans are praising her outfit choice.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down at Casablanca airport on Saturday evening to commence a 3-day tour of Morocco intended to promote, among other things, girls’ education and entrepreneurship.
Despite being seven months pregnant and having just returned from another eventful trip, Meghan looked radiant as she shook hands with their hosts in a knee-length Valentino red dress.
The smock dress did a good job of hiding her baby bump and she accessorized with a pair of nude heels and a matching clutch and gloves which she held in one hand.
The mom-to-be exuded an unmistakable pregnancy glow and did little for makeup besides her signature smokey eye and some lip gloss. She styled her silky locks in a sleek bun and chose tiny earrings to complete the ensemble.
According to the verified Instagram account of The Kensington Palace, this was Meghan and Harry’s first official visit to Morocco, and it looks like it was a hit, at least for the Duchess’s outfit choice.
Meghan and Harry’s trip comes a few days after the Duchess was spotted without her husband in New York City.
While some praised the red number for its sensitivity to Morocco’s identity, others pointed out that it showed Meghan’s respect for the predominant religion of the North African country.

“Loving that dress,” wrote one Instagram user. “The colour seems in accordance with the colour in the Moroccan flag. Assuming was done as a tribute to Morocco- nice, diplomatic touch.”
Another commented:
“Megan’s outfits are so respectful of Islamic culture.”
“The Duchess is elegant and stunning, as always,” echoed a third person.

So far, Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, have spent three days in Morocco where the former actress has rocked various outfits on different occasions.
On Sunday, she paired a navy blue blazer with an all-black ensemble of skinny jeans, blouse, and flat shoes as she and Harry visited a boarding house for female students.
Later that evening, Meghan attended a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to Morocco in a classy yet modest floor-length silk Dior gown.
The Duchess has also been pictured looking more laid-back in a jacket-and-skinny jeans combo, and a pleated black dress, both on Monday.
Meghan and Harry’s trip comes a few days after the Duchess was spotted without her husband in New York City.
The former “Suits” star was in NYC for a lavish but intimate baby shower organized and attended by her celebrity friends including Amal Clooney and Serena Williams.
