Luke Perry's Son Cancels Wrestling Appearance after Sudden Death of his Father
On Monday, actor Luke Perry passed away after having a “massive stroke.” A day after the news came out, his son, who is a wrestler, had to cancel a wrestling match.
Bar Wrestling took to social media to announce the news and offer their condolences to the wrestler.
Jack Perry, 21, is currently mourning his father, Luke Perry”s death. The “Riverdale” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor recently passed away at age 52.
Jack is a professional wrestler who uses the stage name “Jungle Boy.” He had to pull out of an upcoming show at Bar Wrestling to mourn his father’s death.
The event took to Twitter on Tuesday to share the news saying:
“Unfortunately Jungle Boy will no longer be wrestling at our March 13th show. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time.”
However, Jack has yet to publicly comment on losing his father. The actor was taken to a hospital after suffering a stroke last Wednesday.
He stayed “under observation” for five days but never regained consciousness. A statement from the star’s representative revealed that when he died, “He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”
The message concluded:
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
In January, Jack shared that he was signed by All Elite Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion. He began pursuing a professional wrestling career as a senior in high school.
According to “Sports Illustrated” he wanted to make an independent name for himself:
“My family is a part of who I am, but I’m trying to make my own way. I don’t want to use (my father’s fame) to be successful, I want to have my own success.”
Jack was born in June 1997, his sister Sophie, 18, was born in June 2000 and their mother is Luke’s ex-wife, Minnie Sharp. Sophie stays out of the spotlight but she does have a public Instagram page.
Before coming back to the US, she was in Malawi, Africa on a humanitarian mission with friends.
