'We Are Dealing with It,' Kevin Hunter Gives Update on Wife Wendy Williams Living in Sober Home
In the midst of the persistent rumors of his alleged infidelity, Wendy Williams' husband speaks up about his wife's struggle with addiction and gives an update about her progress living in a sober home.
Wendy Williams’ husband Kevin Hunter has finally spoken up to address his wife’s admission of living in a sober home.
Wendy revealed on “The Wendy Williams Show” on Tuesday that she’d been seeking treatment in a home in the tristate area after admitting to struggling with cocaine dependence in the past.
“That is my truth,” she said, revealing her daily routine of being driven by a 24-hour sober coach to a home “with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family.”
It was Kevin who reportedly insisted she stay in a sober house. On Thursday, he spoke to ET’s Kevin Frazer to give an update about his wife’s progress.
“Wendy is doing well. We’re doing well as a family. We are moving forward with working on her sobriety and doing the work to help others, not just ourselves,” Wendy’s husband of more than two decades explains.
"It is a family process. Anybody that has to deal with this knows this a family process... and we are dealing with it and moving forward.”
And while Kevin was open about Wendy’s current status, he didn’t address the more pressing issue concerning his alleged infidelity. Shortly after the talk show host’s admission of sobriety, photos of Kevin and his reported mistress, Sharina Hudson emerged in the news. The rumored couple was said to be engaged in an affair for at least a decade despite Wendy and Kevin denying its existence. They were reportedly spotted in Florida where Wendy was first taken to care for her addiction while she was on leave from her show earlier this year. They were also photographed on vacation.
Wendy has yet to address the photos that emerged but she did give an update about her marriage on the March 4 episode of her show.
“I want to shout-out to my husband. I’m still wearing my ring,” she said, shutting down rumors there’s trouble in their union.
“Believe me you, when you’ve been with somebody for 28 years, married for 25 years … we know each other. He’s my best friend, he’s my lover. … I know what you’ve been seeing … but honey, let me show you who I fell in love with and who he fell in love with.”
To prove that nothing’s broken, she shared an old photo of the two of them on screen and added, “I’m still very much in love with my husband and anyone who’s been married … you know.”
Wendy and Kevin recently launched a hotline under the umbrella of their Hunter Foundation. It aims to aid in providing treatment and recovery resources for victims of drug addiction and their families.
