Reba McEntire's Son Recently Got Married - Meet Him & Her 5 Stepchildren Including Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Spouse
Reba McEntire is a proud mother and stepmother to successful children, including race car driver Shelby Blackstock, who recently tied the knot in Disney World. However, she is no longer with their fathers, Charlie Battles, and Narvel Blackstock.
Reba McEntire made waves in country music throughout her decades-long career, but none of her children followed in her footsteps. Instead, they pursued different paths that led them to be stars in their own rights.
In reality, McEntire only has one biological son, Shelby Blackstock, but the “Fancy” songstress considers all her five stepchildren as her own. Here’s a look at their personal lives.

COTY AND LANCE BATTLES
McEntire first entered motherhood when she tied the knot to rancher and steer-wrestling champion Charlie Battles in 1976. At that time, Charlie was already a father to two teenage sons, Coty and Lance.
Coty followed his father’s footsteps as a steer-wrestler and later settled down as a rancher in Waco, Texas. Meanwhile, his brother Lance lives a more private lifestyle with personal information about him unknown.
Although McEntire and Charlie divorced in 1987, she continued to have a good relationship with his sons. In 2013, Charlie died from complications of a stroke and was survived by his boys and second wife, Donna Granger.
FOUR MORE KIDS
Following her first marriage, McEntire walked down the aisle for the second time in 1989 when she married music manager Narvel Blackstock. She instantly became a mom to three more children, Shawna, Brandon, and Chassidy, who her then-husband had with his ex-wife, Elisa Gayle Ritter.
Her house is also home to her boyfriend, “CSI: Miami” star Rex Linn. The pair first met in 1991 while working on the film “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw,” but only began their romantic relationship in 2020
In 1990, she welcomed her only child, Shelby Blackstock. According to the singer, “I don’t consider Brandon, Chassidy, and Shawna stepchildren. I claim them all.” In her 26 years of marriage, McEntire raised her three stepchildren as she did her biological son.
SHAWNA, BRANDON, AND CHASSIDY BLACKSTOCK
Shawna lives a private life with social media accounts only accessible to her family and friends. Although not much is known about her, she did not follow her father’s career path as a television producer and music manager. Instead, she chose to stay away from the limelight.
Much like his older sister, there is not much information about Chassidy. She mostly stayed away from the spotlight and kept her online profiles private. However, their middle sibling, Brandon, followed his father’s footsteps in the entertainment industry as a talent manager.
Aside from his career, Brandon is known as the ex-husband of “American “Idol” alum Kelly Clarkson, whom he married in 2013. At that time, McEntire revealed that she was incredibly excited to have the singer join their family.
Sadly, the couple’s union lasted a few months shy of what would have been their 8th wedding anniversary. “Brandon’s my stepson. Kelly’s my good friend, and I’m pulling for both of them. I hope they’re happy and healthy and pull through this,” McEntire then said of their split. She also revealed:
"Kelly and I do talk. We text, and I love them both, and so I can’t play favorites because I’ve been a friend of Kelly for a long time.”
Meanwhile, Clarkson opened up about her difficulty through the divorce. “My life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” she said. “I’ve been talking to friends that have been through [a] divorce. I don’t know how people go through that."
SHELBY BLACKSTOCK
McEntire’s biological son, on the other hand, recently began his happily ever after as he married his longtime girlfriend, Marissa Branch, at Walt Disney World on February 12, 2022. The wedding ceremony happened in front of Cinderella’s Castle with the bride looking like a Disney princess herself.
Living up to the theme, Marissa arrived in a horse-drawn carriage and walked down a magical flower petal-covered aisle while “Beauty and the Beast” played in the background. The evening was made more special when Shelby and McEntire danced to the singer’s “You’re Gonna Be.”
The wedding happened over a year following Shelby’s proposal on December 31, 2020, at Disney World. Several photos and videos of the event were also shared on Shelby’s Instagram account.

Although Shelby inherited his mother’s charming smile and sunny personality, he veered off following her footsteps as a country musician and “Country Music Hall of Fame” member. He preferred the danger and adrenaline that came with racing cars.
After falling in love with racing, the young man ditched school and began his racing career, actively competing. Shelby has participated in competitions such as the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, came fifth in the Skip Barber National Championship in 2011, and raced in the United States Formula 2000 National Championship.
Shelby finished third in the Pro Mazda Championship in 2013 and came fourth in Road America. In 2015, he joined the Andretti Autosport in the Indy Series and had since been racing with them.

McEntire and her son are each other’s number one fans and have shown support in many ways. While he is present in her award shows, she also goes to the tracks to watch him race. When the singer got her induction, he was there with his siblings to support her.
An active social media user, Shelby shares a handful of photos in his racing outfit and personal life with his mother and wife. McEntire also juggles a lot as an actress, producer, and businesswoman. She lives in an African-inspired cowboy-style house in Nashville, Tennessee.
McEntire’s mansion is decorated with striking curated art pieces, warm textures, and dark woods. “I love a home that is warm, inviting, and friendly,” she said. Her house is also home to her boyfriend, “CSI: Miami” star Rex Linn.
The pair first met in 1991 while working on the film “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw,” but only began their romantic relationship in 2020. Although they have only been dating for a few years, the couple has been there for each other through difficult times.
