Tamar Braxton Confirms She Split with Her Nigerian Boyfriend Months after Going Public with Him
Tamar Braxton announces she's "single...ready to mingle" as she turns 42 and breaks up with her Nigerian boyfriend after only months of dating. She also alluded to the reason for the split.
Just months after she decided to go public with her relationship with her Nigerian boyfriend, Tamar Braxton confirms it’s over. The singer announced on her Instagram stories, “I’m single…”
Tamar first opened up about her now ex-boyfriend, Yemi during her September 2018 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show. She revealed they met at a friend’s birthday party and even admitted he appealed to her appetite by describing him as “lunchable.”
Soon after, Tamar would share bits and pieces about their romance, including the fact that Yemi would share a bed with her and her five-year-old son, Logan and that he didn't date black women before her.
The couple also went on vacation over the holidays, photos of which the singer shared on social media. Prior to news of their break up, they were together at a party where Tamar sang and the often private Yemi danced.
But things took a different turn this week when Tamar posted a cryptic message that read, “Trust No ONE.”
Fueling suspicions that there was trouble in their romance, she soon wrote, “I’m single…ready to mingle tho.”
The declaration comes in the heels of her 42nd birthday when she went off on her sisters for making her feel less than special that day. Tamar revealed on her Instagram Live the discussion that went down with her family when she complained about the lack of fanfare on her birthday.
She also expressed her dismay when her sister Trina’s boyfriend chose that same day to propose marriage. “This ain't the time or place for this,” she grumbled.
Turning 42 wasn’t quite a happy time for Tamar it seems with the spoilers that went down recently. Here’s hoping the coming days will be more pleasant for the star who also recently bagged the top prize in “Celebrity Big Brother.” Now that's something worth being happy about.
